Women’s Wessex League Open Division update
At the end of April, the Ladies Divisions were in very good shape. In Division One, the Aztec Rage won their third title in four years, securing their first back-to-back titles and still with one game left. In Division Two, there are currently five outstanding/late results and still two games to play. Despite all of the results outstanding, Diamonds have completed a remarkable turn-around from last season and have won Division Two this year.
* Diamonds Basketball Club is a friendly womens club based in Winchester drawing players from Basingstoke, Alton,Andover, Newbury, Eastleigh and Southampton.
* The club is well established having been founded in 1988. Since then it has consistently been one of the top teams in local league basketball.
* Currently we run two teams, the first team competing in the Solent Leagues Division 1 with our second team competing in the Wessex Leagues Division 2.
Structured like this it allows the club to accommodate a wide range of ability levels. As well as having well established experienced players we have members who are still attending local schools whilst others have returned to the game after long layoffs.

* We are always looking for enthusiastic players from 14 years upward to develop a future squad.
*The club has for the past 15years has had two dedicated coaches whose efforts have given Diamonds the reputation of being one of the top teams in both the Wessex and Solent areas.

The Weasels were a mixed team that played one season in the Wessex League division 3. The team comprised of Diamonds and Winchester City players and played against mens teams. The finished with a respectable 8 Win 6 Loss season.
